Week 7: BIG IDEA: God makes you the underdog for a reason: so that you will fully trust him.
Scripture Reading: 2 Samuel 17:1-14 and 1 Corinthians 1:25.
Read through the story of Hushai and Ahithophel. Despite Ahithophel’s reputation for wise counsel, it was Hushai’s seemingly foolish advice that ultimately fulfilled God’s plan and preserved David’s life. 1 Corinthians 1:25 highlights how God’s “foolishness” is wiser than human wisdom, inviting you to consider how God often works in unexpected ways that defy worldly logic.
Reflect on situations where waiting on God’s timing and wisdom, despite the pressure to act, can lead to greater outcomes than you could have orchestrated on your own.
Identify circumstances in today’s world where God’s wisdom (considered foolishness from the world) is superior to worldly wisdom.
Pray and ask God to help you to depend on His wisdom above the wisdom of the world.
