Theme: Learn from the story of Absalom's rebellion.

Scripture Reading: 2 Samuel 15:1-6

Devotional: Read 2 Samuel 15:1-6. Observe Absalom's actions and motivations. What were his true motivations? Have you ever been tempted to overspiritualize the wrong motivations in your life?  Has anyone ever done that to you?  Consider the impact of ambition and discord against the backdrop of family and community.

Reflection Question: Can you identify with Absalom’s desire for recognition or control? Reflect on a time when you might have sought your agenda over unity.  In what ways did seeking your agenda harm yourself, harm others, and waste precious time?

Prayer and Action: Seek God's guidance in being patient and trusting His timing, rather than grasping for control. Pray for a heart that seeks reconciliation rather than division.
