Big Idea: God does something FOR US, so that He can work IN US and THROUGH US.
Theme: The Impact of Faithful Service
Scripture: Ephesians 4:12; Revelation 2:19
“to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,”
““‘I know your works, your love and faith and service and patient endurance, and that your latter works exceed the first.”
Our church staff is so blessed to GET to do ministry. But the most impactful way that we do ministry is by equipping every single person in our church to be the hands and feet of Christ to all people. God has equipped you to reach people that might be a different crowd than our staff can reach. And each person has a sphere of influence where they can carry the Good News of Jesus and see lives changed.
Our service in God’s kingdom has the potential to make enduring and even eternal impacts, much like Isaiah’s call contributed to the fulfillment of God's mission. Revelation 2:19 speaks of Jesus' recognition of deeds, love, faith, and perseverance. When we serve, our work in the Lord is never in vain but is a testament to our faith and love. By serving diligently, you might positively affect one person's eternity, as seen in the testimony of individuals in your congregation whose lives were changed by volunteers. Therefore, faithfulness in service, no matter how small it seems, is valuable in God's eyes.
Action Step: Reflect on someone in your life who has positively impacted your faith journey. Reach out and thank them. Consider how you can be that person for someone else.
