BIG IDEA: When it comes to giving our treasures, we should start with “In the Beginning, God.”
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 9:11"You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God."
In 2 Corinthians 9:11, Paul emphasizes that our generosity results in more than mere financial support; it results in thanksgiving to God. When we give, we are not just meeting immediate needs—our gifts have eternal value and impact. God enriches us for the purpose of being generous, creating a ripple effect of gratitude and worship. This is an opportunity to connect our earthly resources to heavenly results, participating in God's redemptive work through the local church and beyond.
Giving is not merely paying bills or fulfilling obligations; it’s investing in what lasts forever. The church’s mission is fueled by our contributions, reaching children, families, and whole communities. Beyond today, our generosity plays a part in God’s eternal story. As we give, we connect ourselves more deeply to God’s heart for people, seeing the fruits of ministry that our resources help cultivate—lives transformed, souls saved, and eternity impacted through our tangible acts.
Action Step: Reflect on how your giving contributes to God’s eternal work. Write a thank you note to God for the opportunity to invest in what matters for eternity.
