Friday: Readiness to Sacrifice

Scripture Reference: Acts 7:54-58

"Now when they heard these things they were enraged, and they ground their teeth at him. But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears and rushed together at him. Then they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul."

Charlie Kirk: "Some of the greatest achievements and acts of sacrifice throughout history have been born from faith that looks beyond self and towards something greater."

Reflection:

Stephen's unwavering faith in the face of persecution sets a powerful example for believers. His readiness to sacrifice everything for Christ speaks volumes about having an unshakeable faith. As modern-day Christians, we may not face the same level of persecution, but we are called to be ready to stand firm in our beliefs, even when it costs us.

Reflecting on Stephen's martyrdom challenges us to assess our level of commitment. Are we truly willing to lay down our own comfort for the sake of the Gospel? Readiness to sacrifice personal gain for God’s glory requires a deep rootedness in faith and an eternal perspective.

Call to Action: Consider areas of your life where you value comfort over conviction. Commit to putting Christ first, even when it requires personal sacrifice.

Call to Prayer: Heavenly Father, grant me the strength to put You above all else. Help me to live a life of sacrifice, willingly upholding Your truth, despite any cost. Amen.
