Friday: The Power of Devotion

BIG IDEA: A DISTRACTED LIFE TODAY WILL DAMAGE THE LIVES OF TOMORROW.

Scripture Passage: Matthew 6:33 (NIV)  "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

We all need to learn to seek God’s plan FIRST.  This verse reminds us of the priority our devotion to God should have in our lives. When we seek His kingdom first, everything else falls into place. The single-minded pursuit of God aligns our actions with His will and shields us from distractions.

Solomon, Jeroboam, and Rehoboam’s stories all illustrate the consequences of misplaced priorities. By choosing God above all else, we become firmly rooted in His purpose, minimizing the impact of distractions and maximizing our influence for His glory.

Jesus empowers us to choose devotion over distraction. His life exemplified unwavering focus on God's mission, even amid trials. Through His example and strength, we can navigate distractions and maintain a clear vision of God’s priorities.

Action Step:Make a list of your current priorities. Evaluate whether they align with God’s kingdom. Adjust as needed to ensure God’s priorities come first in your daily life.

Prayer:   Heavenly Father, instill in me a heart that seeks Your kingdom above all else. Help me prioritize my life in a way that aligns with Your will. Draw me closer to You, and may my life be a testament to Your righteousness. Amen.
