Reading: Galatians 5:16-25  “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.”

‭‭2 Corinthians 4:17-18 “For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”

Devotional: Here's the central choice you face every single day: Will you thrive in the power of God's Spirit or struggle in the limitations of your flesh? Elisha consistently chose the Spirit. He saw what others couldn't see, did what others couldn't do, and experienced what others couldn't imagine—all because he walked in God's power, not his own.

You have the same Holy Spirit living in you that raised Jesus from the dead. Yet how often do you operate as though you're alone, limited, powerless? The flesh focuses on what's seen, temporary, and impossible. The Spirit focuses on what's unseen, eternal, and possible with God.

Reflection: Your light momentary affliction is preparing an eternal weight of glory. Don't look only at what's seen—it's temporary. Look to what's unseen—it's eternal.

The struggles, frustrations, and challenges you face today may feel heavy in the moment, but Scripture reminds us they are not wasted. God is using even the difficult seasons to shape you, refine you, and prepare something far greater than what you can currently see. When you walk by the Spirit, your perspective begins to shift—you stop living only for what is immediate and start living with eternity in mind.

Response: Audit your week. Where did you operate in the flesh versus the Spirit? Confess areas of self-reliance. Ask God to fill you fresh with His Spirit today, empowering you to see, think, and live supernaturally.

Invite the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts, reactions, and decisions today. In moments of frustration, pause and ask, “God, how would You lead me here?” As you keep in step with Him, you will begin to see the fruit of the Spirit grow in your life—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control—evidence that God’s power is working within you.
