Reading: Revelation 1:4-6; 1 John 1:5-9

Revelation 1:4-6 “John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

‭‭1 John 1:5-9 “This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Naaman was washed clean in the Jordan; we are washed clean by the blood of Jesus. The imagery is powerful—complete cleansing, total restoration, new life. John's vision shows Jesus who "loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood." This isn't about performance or perfection but about the gift freely given. Just as Naaman's leprosy met God's healing power, our shame meets the Most High and we are washed from the inside out.

Today, you don't need to journey to distant rivers or perform religious rituals. The blood of Christ is sufficient. It could have only been the blood. Whatever you're carrying—guilt, shame, brokenness—bring it to Jesus. His blood speaks a better word than your past. Let today be your day of cleansing, your moment of surrender, your confession of faith.
