Day 1: Big Idea: The accuser calls us idiots. God calls us BRAVE.
Scripture:** Acts 3:1-10
"One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God."
In this passage, Peter and John encountered a man with a lifelong disability seeking monetary assistance. It’s something that we probably see every single day. However, instead of offering temporary relief in the form of money, they provided what he truly needed—healing through Jesus Christ. Their willingness to follow the Holy Spirit's prompting led to a miraculous transformation, not only for the man but also for those who witnessed the event. This scene highlights the idea of unexpected divine appointments and illustrates how God's plans often surpass our immediate expectations.
We can apply this truth by remaining open to divine interruptions in our daily routine. Being available to God may sometimes require us to set aside our plans to engage with the needs of those around us, trusting that God can work through our willingness.
ACTION: Intentionally look for opportunities to offer prayer and support to someone you encounter today, perhaps at your workplace or in your community. Remember 3 things all of us can do 1) Bring Church to Them 2) Invite and Include 3) Share Your Story
Prayer Prompt: "Lord, help me to see the divine appointments You have placed in my path today. Give me the bravery to step out and offer Your love and healing to those who need it."
