Psalm 119:105-112 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, to keep your righteous rules. I am severely afflicted; give me life, O Lord, according to your word! Accept my freewill offerings of praise, O Lord, and teach me your rules. I hold my life in my hand continually, but I do not forget your law. The wicked have laid a snare for me, but I do not stray from your precepts. Your testimonies are my heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart. I incline my heart to perform your statutes forever, to the end.”
Life often presents us with choices much like a "choose your own adventure" book. Each decision takes us on a different path, and God's Word serves as our guide. Psalm 119:105 reminds us that God's Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. If we lean into His guidance, we can confidently navigate these choices.
Choosing your own adventure often involves deciding between short-term desires versus long-term blessings. God’s plans for us always lead to greater fulfillment and purpose. When we align our choices with His word, our path becomes illuminated, revealing His wisdom and insight. Each decision becomes an opportunity to deepen our relationship with Him.
Unfortunately, there are steep consequences when we choose contrary to God's guidance. Like the story of Ahaziah, choosing against God's way leads to spiritual and sometimes physical downfall. Let us, therefore, strive to keep His word close, allowing His light to direct us away from harm and toward His blessings.
Action Step: Identify a key decision you are currently facing. Spend time exploring what Scripture says about it, and ask God for His wisdom and guidance to make the right choice.
Prayer:Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word, which lights my path and guides my steps. Help me to take You at Your Word. I pray for wisdom and discernment as I make decisions that align with Your will. Help me to seek Your guidance in every choice. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
