MONDAY: Rescued from Darkness

BIG IDEA:
When we align our thinking with a kingdom mindset, we truly begin to connect to God’s greater purpose.
Reading: Colossians 1:13-14; Ephesians 2:1-5
Colossians 1:13-14
“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”
Ephesians 2:1-5
“And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—”
Devotional:
Before Christ, we existed in spiritual death—not merely sick, but completely separated from God. This isn't hyperbole; it's reality.
We were trapped in the domain of darkness, enslaved to sin, without hope. But God's rescue mission changed everything. He didn't send a life coach or moral teacher; He sent a Rescuer. Jesus didn't come to improve our situation but to transfer us entirely—from death to life, from darkness to His marvelous light.

When did you last truly marvel at your rescue from spiritual death?
Response:
Today, pause and remember the depth of where you were and the miracle of what Christ has done. This remembrance fuels gratitude, humility, and compassion for others still lost in darkness.
