Monday: Welcoming God's Presence

BIG IDEA: The wisdom of WELCOMING GOD gives us a CLEAR VISION for our lives.

Scripture: 1 Kings 8:10-11 (ESV)

"And when the priests came out of the Holy Place, a cloud filled the house of the Lord, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord."

Scripture demonstrates to all of us that the presence of God is tangible and transformative. When Solomon finished building the temple and the ark was brought in, God's presence manifested as a cloud, overwhelming the space. This imagery serves as a reminder that welcoming God's presence requires openness and readiness to be awestruck by His glory. It’s an invitation to see beyond our daily struggles and recognize the divine hand at work, filling our lives with His purpose and direction.

This true story about the worship led by Solomon articulates the idea that welcoming God into our lives is crucial. It’s easy to be caught up in the busyness of life and neglect the divine presence continually reaching out to us. By making space in our daily routines to acknowledge and invite God in, we create opportunities for Him to clarify our vision and guide our paths. As we invite Him into our hearts, minds, and daily decisions, we find a cleared vision for living that aligns with His will.

ACTION STEP: Spend 10 minutes in silence today, intentionally inviting God's presence into your life. Consider journaling about what it means for you to "welcome God" in practical terms.
