BIG IDEA: One of the enemy's top distractions is to convince us to build a DIY-god for ourselves.

Scripture: Jude 1:3-4

“Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.”

Jude calls believers to actively contend for the faith amidst false teachings and cultural pressure. The faith delivered to us is precious and worth defending. Remaining vigilant in our beliefs means standing against untruths that seek to distort the Gospel message for personal gain or cultural acceptance.

Today, we face hundreds of voices attempting to redefine or undermine the core tenets of our faith. This passage serves as a reminder to hold fast to Scripture, and adhere to the teachings of Jesus without compromise. Contending for our faith involves prayer, study, and being informed by God’s Word.

Faith in Jesus equips us with the courage and knowledge required to stand firm. Jesus’s life provides a powerful example of unwavering commitment to God’s truth, and through Him, we are empowered to do the same. With His help, we can confidently contend for the faith in a world full of doubts and distractions.

ACTION STEP:  Equip yourself by diving deeper into Scripture and seeking understanding. Engage in conversations that encourage and defend the faith.

Prayer:

God, help me to become a student of Your Word. Help me to be a true part of Your family.  And help me to discern the truth of Your Spirit.
