Saturday: BRAVE

Day 6

Scripture: 

Galatians 1:10 “For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Galatians 1:10 is such a useful verse. It’s so versatile for just about any situation where we are tempted to fear man above fearing God.  A helpful hint from the Apostle Paul….Don’t Fear Man.  Don’t get caught up in what others might think. The enemy wants you to keep your story hidden or keep it to yourself. But there is POWER in your story. And there is POWER in the name of Jesus. 

For some of you, your perfectionism is tempting you to NOT post your story on the Connect Book of Life. Don’t let perfectionism paralyze you. When you read my story, I bet you thought it was basic and that you could do better or add detail.  I’m totally fine with that. I hope that my story is the least exciting story of all the ones typed out. The goal here is not to be perfect, the goal is to be a FAITHFUL WITNESS.  I can’t wait to read your story!!!!  Please don’t hide it. God didn’t just give you a story for YOU, he gave you a story for OTHERS as well.  

Acts 1:8 contains Christ’s last words on this planet before His return.  What were those words? BE MY WITNESSES.  To be a witness in a courtroom is simply to testify the truth of your side of the story as you know it. This is exactly what Jesus is saying. If you were to sit in a courtroom and testify about your walk with Christ to the on-looking world, what would you say?

I know that part of what you would say is “this is what my life was like before I met Christ.” Then you would say, “Then my life changed thanks to Jesus.”  And then you would say, “Since then, God has helped me with this and this and this and this……and I have an eternal living hope that no one can take away from me!”
