Saturday: Day 6 of 21 DAYS OF PRAYER!!  (6 am at Connect in the worship center Mon-Saturday)

Big Idea: God does something FOR US, so that He can work IN US and THROUGH US.

Theme: Stepping into God’s Calling

Scripture: Isaiah 6:8; Ephesians 4:16

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.””

“from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”

The right response to God’s work in us is a willingness to step into His calling. When Isaiah said, "Here am I, send me," he stepped into the purpose God had prepared for him. Isaiah didn’t have all the answers.  He didn’t have all the knowledge.  He had very little experience.  And most likely the religious people of the time probably thought he was some young punk.  But God called him to be SENT.  My calling might not be the same as your calling. The calling of Isaiah was different than the calling of King Josiah.  But even though are callings are different, they are all the same in the fact that it is a calling from God to bring the Good News to a lost world.

The church grows in love through every joint and part doing its work. You might feel inadequate or uncertain, but God loves to use the unlikely to fulfill His plans. Taking a step in faith, just like the young men from Connect’s Young Adults praying earnestly, moves you into God’s grand design for the church and the world.

Action Step: Pray for courage and ask God where He wants to send you. Commit to taking one bold step toward serving in a new area within your church or community this week.
