Thursday: BRAVE

Day 4

Scripture: Psalm 1 “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.”

Devotional:  To be BORN AGAIN, is to be BLESSED, just like David wrote in Psalm 1. No longer to you have to get caught up in all the mess of the world. (back then, they called it chaff, which meant waste from what was already harvested….sorta like the wrapper from Taco Bell after you eat the taco. You throw that thing away.)  

Application:

We showed the BEFORE picture. Now it’s time for the AFTER picture. I don’t know about you, but I like the AFTER picture better all the time. Since meeting, Christ, how has He guided you? How has He blessed you? How has He helped you endure trying times?  Below is a brief version of my “Since I met Christ” story.

AFTER STORY:

I was blessed to know Jesus early. But I have made 1000 mistakes, and I've sinned 1000s of times since then. I am comforted that MY WORKS do not save me but by GOD'S GRACE. When I think about how Jesus loves me unconditionally, forgives me, and never holds a grudge, it causes me to WORSHIP HIM. It motivates me to TELL OTHERS about HIM. It makes me want to GROW with other BELIEVERS. And God's GENEROSITY toward me helps me remember to be GENEROUS towards Him and others.
