BIG IDEA: A DISTRACTED LIFE TODAY WILL DAMAGE THE LIVES OF TOMORROW.
Scripture Passage: Acts 3:19 (NIV) "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."
The call to repentance is a recurring theme throughout Scripture, emphasizing the importance of turning away from sin and toward God. The act of repentance is not just about acknowledging wrongdoing but about actively choosing a new direction that aligns with God's will.
Repentance is essential, and Jeroboam declined every opportunity. Jeroboam's story was one of missed opportunities for repentance, leading to his downfall in both his earthly and his eternal life. Conversely, moments of true repentance can rejuvenate our spirits and renew our relationship with God, leading to personal and communal revival.
Through Jesus, the invitation to repentance is continuously extended to us, offering the promise of forgiveness and renewal. It’s a chance to experience the refreshing grace of God that transforms our lives and brings us closer to Him, purifying our hearts and minds.
Action Step: Set aside time to reflect on areas where you need to repent and turn back to God. Write down a prayer of repentance and commit to daily steps that embrace God’s refreshment.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I come before You in need of Your forgiveness and grace. I repent of my sins and the ways I have turned from You. Please wipe my slate clean and help me walk in Your light and truth. Amen.
Song of the Day: “Give Us Clean Hands”
