Big Idea: God does something FOR US, so that He can work IN US and THROUGH US.
Theme: The Role of Grace in Service
Scripture:** Ephesians 4:7, 11-12
“But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift.”
“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,”
God's grace equips us to serve in His kingdom. It is the foundation upon which we build our ability to minister and edify one another. Every believer has been given a specific gift for the benefit of the body of Christ. God customized you! You are not some copy from a human assembly line. He made you with a specific design in mind. The purpose of these gifts is not self-glorification, but rather to equip the saints for works of service.
Grace makes it possible for flawed, ordinary people to do extraordinary things in God's name. When we recognize the grace given to us, we are motivated to use our gifts to serve others, contributing to the unity and growth of the church.
If you would like to dig deeper in how God gifts us, here is a link that will take you to a survey of spiritual gifts. It might take 10-15 minutes, but through the test, you might discover areas where you are gifted. https://www.lifeway.com/en/articles/women-leadership-spiritual-gifts-growth-service
Action Step: Reflect on your spiritual gifts and how you might use them to serve others. If you’re unsure of your gifts, consider taking a spiritual gifts assessment or asking trusted friends for their insights.
