Tuesday: God, Our Eternal Source

BIG IDEA: When it comes to giving our treasures, we should start with “In the Beginning, God.”

Scripture: Zechariah 4:6"Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts."

In Zechariah 4:6, we are reminded that true success and victory are not achieved through human strength alone but through God’s Spirit. This passage continually points us back to the truth that God is our ultimate source. Just as Israel’s victory over Jericho was by God's power, not their own, our resources and blessings come from Him. When we tithe, we acknowledge that God is the provider of all that we have. It's a way of returning a portion of what He has given us, a practice that underlines our dependence on His Spirit, not on our own abilities or possessions.Releasing our tight grip on our finances to give back to God echoes our understanding of His role in our lives—our sustainer and source.

Consider this: God asks for a fry from the basket He provided. How could we ever deny Him? We can’t claim ownership of what He’s abundantly given. Tithing is not losing something; it's participating in a divine economy where we recognize God's ultimate provision, which allows us to live free from financial fear and worry, knowing He takes care of our needs.

Action Step: Reflect on current needs in your life and remember that God is your source.

Offer a prayer, inviting God’s Spirit to guide and provide in all areas.
