TUESDAY: Our Future Hope

BIG IDEA:
When we align our thinking with a kingdom mindset, we truly begin to connect to God’s greater purpose.
Reading: 2 Corinthians 5:6-9; Revelation 21:1-5
2 Corinthians 5:6-9
“So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body, we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.”
Revelation 21:1-5
“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also, he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Devotional:
Life moves quickly—a vapor, a mist, here today and gone tomorrow. Yet this brief existence isn't meaningless; it's preparation for eternity. Paul expressed confidence that to be absent from the body means being present with the Lord.
Where we're going is a place where suffering ends, tears cease, and pain becomes a distant memory. Death itself dies. The kingdom of this world becomes fully the Kingdom of our Lord. This future hope isn't escapism; it's fuel for present faithfulness.
