Friday: The Value of Divine Insight

BIG IDEA: The greatest thing you could ever do is to ask God for wisdom and follow through.

Scripture: 1 Kings 3:28 - "And all Israel heard of the judgment that the king had rendered, and they stood in awe of the king, because they perceived that the wisdom of God was in him to do justice."

Thanks to God’s help, Solomon had access to “cutting-edge” technology in solving a tough problem. (DAD JOKE ALERT)  Solomon's wise judgment in the case of the two women quickly spread throughout Israel, demonstrating both his God-given wisdom and the ability of divine insight to solve human conflicts. This story underscores the power of wisdom to bring heavenly solutions to earthly problems. Solomon's reliance on God's wisdom set him apart and established his credibility as a just ruler in the eyes of his people.

Think about how wisdom can transform situations in your own life. Are there conflicts or decisions you face that seem insurmountable? Seeking God's wisdom can bring clarity and resolution where human understanding falls short. Whether in personal matters or larger societal challenges, divine insight holds the key to peace and justice.  With wisdom, you win. A mentor once told me that “obstacles are an opportunity for God to move.”  Wisdom helps us to reframe even the challenges and trials into opportunities if we continue to walk with the Lord and ask for HIS insight.

Action Step: Reflect on a current challenge or decision you face. Seek God’s insight through prayer and scripture, and write down any guidance you receive to revisit and reflect upon.

Prayer:  Lord, thank You for the gift of wisdom and the insights it brings. Help me to apply it to the challenges I face, bringing Your peace and justice into every situation. Amen.
