MONDAY: Seeking God in Your Youth

Big Idea:

The Remedy to a crumbling soul is revival.  The roadmap to Revival is to Turn to the Lord, Kill the Sin, and Follow the Word.

Reading:

2 Chronicles 34:1–3 (ESV)

1 Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. 2 And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, and walked in the ways of David his father; and he did not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. 3 For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet a boy, he began to seek the God of David his father, and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem of the high places, the Asherim, and the carved and the metal images.

Devotional:

Josiah was only sixteen when he began to seek the Lord for himself. In a culture saturated with idolatry and rebellion, this young king made a choice that would define his life and impact an entire nation. Your age doesn't determine your ability to pursue God wholeheartedly. Whether you're sixteen or sixty, today is the day to seek Him with fresh passion. The statistics show that Gen Z is leading in church attendance—proving that spiritual hunger knows no generational boundaries.

What decision will you make today? Will you seek the God of your fathers, or will you chart your own course toward Him? Your personal relationship with Jesus cannot be inherited; it must be chosen. Make that choice today.

Reflection:

Wherever you are in life—teen, young adult, parent, grandparent—ask yourself honestly: “Is my pursuit of God active or passive?” Are you seeking Him because others expect you to, or because you personally hunger to know Him?

Response:

Take a few minutes to pray, “Lord, I want to seek You for myself. Reveal Yourself to me in a fresh way.” Consider one practical step you can take this week—joining a group, starting a consistent Bible reading plan, or carving out a daily prayer time—to move from borrowed faith to personal, vibrant faith.
