Reading Time: 3 Minutes
Reading:
Ezekiel 36:26
“And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you…”
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation…”
Devotional:
Behavior modification can change actions temporarily, but only God can truly transform a heart.
That’s the promise God gave through Ezekiel: “I will give you a new heart.” God’s solution has never been simply trying harder. His solution is transformation from the inside out.
Many people spend years fighting symptoms while never addressing the source. We try harder to be patient, loving, peaceful, or disciplined while our hearts remain disconnected and exhausted.
But Christianity is so much more than just self-improvement, it's a whole new life.
When God changes the heart, new desires begin to form. Old patterns lose power. Healing starts happening beneath the surface. It may not happen instantly, but transformation begins when we stay connected to Him.
God is still in the business of giving people new hearts.
Reflection Questions:
Are you trying to manage behavior without surrendering your heart to God?
What area of your life needs deeper transformation instead of surface change?
Response:
Pray Psalm 51:10 today:
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”
Ask God to begin changing not just what you do, but who you are becoming.
