TUESDAY: The Eternal Over the Temporary

Big Idea:
The Remedy to a crumbling soul is revival. The roadmap to Revival is to Turn to the Lord, Kill the Sin, and Follow the Word.
Reading:
Hebrews 11:24–26 (ESV)
24 By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26 He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward.
Devotional:
Josiah resisted the temptation to follow his wicked father and grandfather because he discovered a powerful truth: the eternal presence of God is better than the temporary pleasure of sin. Moses understood this same principle when he chose to suffer with God's people rather than enjoy the fleeting pleasures of Egypt.
What temptations are you facing today? What sins are you tolerating rather than destroying? The key to overcoming isn't willpower alone—it's catching a glimpse of who God truly is.
When you see His glory, His goodness, and His faithfulness, the world's offerings lose their appeal. Spend time in God's presence today. Let Him show you how much better He is than anything this world offers.
Reflection:
Think about one specific “fleeting pleasure” that pulls at your heart—a habit, a pattern, or a compromise you know isn’t God’s best. Ask: “What am I believing this will give me that I don’t trust God to provide?” Then flip that question: “What eternal joy, peace, or reward from God am I trading away when I choose this?”
Response:
Invite the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to the long-term impact of your choices. Write down a simple statement: “The presence of God is better than _______,” and fill in that blank honestly.
